About Glen Cove Arts Council Inc.
The Glen Cove Arts Council Inc. was formed in 2004 by Glen Cove Poet Laureate, Victoria Crosby, with a grant from the Glen Cove Community Development Agency. (CDA)
The original grant was to help promote existing free musical performances in Glen Cove to minorities.
Program flyers were translated into Spanish and distributed to the Hispanic community.
A performance of Prokofiev's Peter and The Wolf as part of the Morgan Park Summer Music Festival in August 2005, was narrated in both English and Spanish.
A matching grant was given in 2006 by a philanthropic Glen Cove resident for the purpose of publishing the poetry written for the City of Glen Cove by the poet laureate from 1994-2008.
This collection of over fifty poems "PoeticVic-CivicPoet" is now available at a donation of $12 (which includes postage) to GCAC. Send checks to GCAC PO Box 27 Glen Cove NY 11542
In 2007 a generous donation from GLY (God Loves You) religious store, www.glybooks.com and other sponsors, enabled the GCAC to hire North Pole Productions to present The Waterfront Wonderland of Lights.
